Sephora PLAY! Unbagging

Recently, I’ve been OBSESSED with youtube makeup tutorials. I could watch Jaclyn Hill or Kathleen Lights apply makeup to their beautiful faces for hours on end. And then a quick trip to Sephora later, I am trying those same techniques on my own skin.

I say all that to say that since my new found addiction to makeup started, I have been trying to become a member of Sephora PLAY! Finally, I was taken off the waiting list and immediately signed up! Much like birchbox or ipsy, PLAY! comes monthly and is filled with sample-sized goodies for you to enjoy.

This months bag was all about achieving the perfect GLOW. It came with 6 products that are all meant to help your skin achieve megawatt radiance. Always a fan of a subtle glow, I was excited to give these products a shot.

The Bobbi Brown Cream Shadow Stick has a rosy gold hue. You can apply it alone to your eyelids for an all over shine or on top of your eye shadow for an extra pop! I like this especially as an inner corner highlight.

Watt’s Up! Highlighter from Benefit has been a favorite of mine since Mario Dedivanovic, Kim Kardashian’s makeup artist, told the world he used it. What can I say, if something is going to help me look like a Kardashian, I’m willing to give it a shot. This is great if applied under your powder to give your face a glow from within. Or, apply it on top if you’re looking for some serious strobing power.

I’m always a sucker for Living Proof. In my book, they can do no wrong. This Dry Volume Blast is perfect for giving  life to limp, oily hair without having to step foot into the shower. Let’s be real, I am always looking for an excuse to avoid washing my hair.

I was unimpressed with the GLAMGLOW moisturizer. It’s meant to give you that ethereal glow under your makeup, but I found it thick and felt like it was clogging my pores. I’ll be leaving this sample behind.

I had a similar experience with the Josie Maran Finishing Balm. I tried it on my face after my makeup was applied, but it did not sit right over my powder. Instead, it messed with my blending and left no lasting impression.

The Chloe perfume is light and subtle enough for every day use and the perfect travel size for your weekend getaways.

Overall, I liked four of the six  products! But more than anything, I love trying samples before buying things full size!
