Maybe Mini Post \\ Oaks Lily

Lily (5) (640x451)

Even people who haven’t been to Kentucky usually know about the delicious mint julep. The official drink of the Kentucky Derby is the most popular guy in town and for good reason.

However, I’m here to tell you about the mint julep’s lesser known sister, the Oaks Lily. It’s just as refreshing and I think *gasp* maybe a bit more delicious. I am a vodka girl, so I will admit I am a bit biased here. But, in honor of celebrating Oaks this Friday with my closest girlfriends I thought I would  let the Oaks Lily take center stage for once! Enjoy one at home and you’ll feel just like you’re at the races.

Lily (640x424)

  • 1 and 1/4 oz vodka \\ note: the official vodka of the Kentucky Oaks is Grey Goose, but I’m a Kettle One girl myself!
  • 1 oz sweet and sour mix
  • 1/4 oz Triple Sec or orange liquor (I used Cointreau)
  • 3 oz Cranberry Juice

Put all ingredients in a shaker, mix well, and pour of crushed ice! Garnish with a few fresh strawberries, enjoy and place your bets.
