With all my friends in town this past weekend to celebrate my bachelorette party, I cannot tell you how many times my friends complimented my loose waives and wanted to try out some of my hair products. That inspired me to share my favorite products for hair care with you. I’m not a hairdresser by any means and I always recommend starting with a good cut and color (every 6-8 weeks), but these are the products I truly love and use all the time.
Run-Through Detaingling Spray and Primer by Oribe \\ This is one of my favorite things to use right after the shower. It allows me to run my brush through my hair without causing breakage from snarls and tangles. I love this product from Oribe and you can’t go wrong with most of their line. As an added bonus, this smells amazing. Even though it can be a bit pricey, I have had this bottle for months and haven’t run out.
Diamond Oil by Redken \\ This is my second step when prepping my hair after the shower. I put a few pumps of this in my hand and smooth it through my hair, starting at the ends and working up towards the roots. A little goes a long way with this product. It is also great for maintaining frizz on day old (or two-day old) hair.
Extreme Anti Snap by Redken \\ I bought this product when I was blonde (yes, I was a blonde) because the bleach strips your hair of its natural protein and makes it very fragile. I’ve continued using this because I really feel like it helps my hair stay healthy and strong. Rub two to three pumps through your hair before blow drying and you’re good to go.
NuME Wand \\ I live and die by this wand and if we’re talking about achieving the perfect loose waves, this is your best friend. I have tried drug store wands and other high-end brands, and I’m sorry to say nothing works like this wand. Every friend of mine who has tried this has fallen in love with it. I promise you will too.
Forceful Hairspray by Redken \\ This is the newest product in my collection. I bought it after my hair stylist recommended it and even though I’ve only been using it a few days, I really love it. It’s got great hold but is still touchably soft and won’t make your hair crunchy!
Dry Shampoo by Ouai \\ Hair stylist to the stars, Jen Atkin, created this dry shampoo and I have to say, you will either LOVE it or hate it. It is not your typical dry shampoo because it also is a texturizing spray. Sometimes I’ll use this even when my hair isn’t oily or greasy, just to add a bit more volume. It works well to soak up grease, but if you’re looking for something more traditional, I also love this one by Living Proof.
Disclaimer: the Redken products I mention here I bought from my hair salon, and I would recommend you do the same. You can often end up with old or expired products if you buy salon-quality products from outside sources!
