After Cinque Terre we drove to Florence and let me just say that was quite the experience. We had a difficult time finding the car return, which resulted in 4 circles through the roundabouts by the airport. Needless to say, if anyone needs any advice on locations around the Florence airport, we have you covered.

We really enjoyed our time in Florence, and though I would change nothing about the way we planned this trip, if I could have made it last longer, I would have added another day to our stay in this lovely city. The more time we spent there, the more we fell in love.

The first day we went to the Academia, the Tempio Maggiore Israelitico di Firenze, the Ponte Vecchio, and walked until our feet fell off. We had drinks in the piazza by Il Duomo di Firenze, breaking our “no stopping in restaurants on the main piazza” rule so we could have a drink and marvel in her glory.

The food in Florence was also amazing. Our favorite meal by far was our last night at Osteria del Cinghiale Bianca. Just across the craziness of the Ponte Vecchio sits the cutest little restaurant with the friendliest staff. We had an amazing dinner of pasta and steak florentine. You know it’s good when they don’t even ask you how you want your steak cooked. Rather, they bring you a literal slab of perfectly cooked beef that melts in your mouth like butter. I cannot recommend it enough.
