At My Vanity \\ Easy Summer Makeup

It’s officially summer (hadn’t you heard?!), and that means it’s time to switch up my makeup routine. I cannot stand applying my normal full face in the hot summer months, and even if I could, it would melt away in no time from the humidity. So below, I’m sharing with you my summer beauty routine!

Primer \\ Clinique Pep Start

Summer (800x533)

I’ve talked about this love of mine before, but the Clinique Pep-Start Hydroblur Moisturizer is a great summer moisturizer and primer. I apply this all over my face and it gives me just the added touch of moisture I need (which isn’t a lot, because my skin gets oily in the summer months!).

Concealer \\ Tarte Shape Tape

Summer (2) (800x533)

It’s not often that products truly live up to their hype, but the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer does. I love this concealer with all of my heart (I even used it on my wedding day). I apply this generously under my eyes in a triangle like pattern, and put a few dabs over any blemishes. I then blend it all in using my beauty blender, blending the concealer all the way to the temples and down the side of the nose.

Highlight \\ Benefit Watt’s Up Cream Highlight

Summer (3) (800x533)

A cream highlight is great in the summer to give you a dewy glow (and yes, there’s a difference between dewy and oily)and whenever I use a cream highlight I use Benefit’s Watt’s Up! I dab my beauty blender directly on the highlight side, and blend it on my cheek bones before I set my face with any powder.

Powder \\ Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Face Powder

Summer (4) (800x533)

This Powder by Charlotte Tilbury is the newest addition to my makeup collection, and I sure am happy to have her join the party! After applying my concealer and highlight, I press this all over my face with a big fluffy brush. Make sure you press this in first, then blend otherwise you’ll mess up the blending of your concealer and highlight.

Bronzer \\ Benefit Hoola Matte Bronzer

Summer (5) (800x533)

You need a good bronzer to give you that summer tan (which is usually important for me because I try to keep my face out of the sun, so my body is tan but my face is not). The Hoola Bronzer by Benefit is a good choice. Apply it to the hollows of the cheeks first, then along the hairline, and when there’s barely any product left on your brush, rub it over the rest of your face.

Mascara \\ Diorshow Mascara

Summer (6) (800x533)

The next step is a swipe of mascara on the lashes! You can curl them first, or you can just apply a quick swipe of this Diorshow Mascara to darken and lengthen the lashes.

Lip Gloss \\ Clinique Almost Lipstick

Summer (9) (800x533)

No need for a heavy lipstick on those hot summer days. Just apply your favorite lip gloss or chapstick. I used this Clinique Almost Lipstick which is hydrating, sheer and glossy. It just casts the slightest tint on your lips.

Setting Spray \\ Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray

Summer (8) (800x533)

The final step is to lock it all into place! The Urban Decay All Nighter Spray will help your powder lie flat and smooth, ensuring your makeup doesn’t budge all day. A bit of a spritz and you’re ready to go . . .

. . . ready to take on that summer day, fresh faced and glowing!
