Well, I’m still behind on these. . . but not for long! I thought I would share with you what I got in my June PLAY! bag, even though it’s the second week of July (seriously, where is summer going?!). But before I start, I have been toying with the idea of making these “beauty” posts into videos. I think they translate so much better if I can show you what it’s like when I use the product. So please, leave me a comment here, on my instagram, facebook or twitter if that’s something you’d like to see! It’d definitely be out of my comfort zone, but I’m willing to give the people what they want!
This month’s theme is all about the summer state of mind! This is probably one of my favorite bags I’ve received yet, with lots of goodies for skin and hair care all summer long.
Benefit \\ The Pore Professional
The Pore Professional Face Primer from Benefit is a great product and one I already have in my beauty draws. This goes on silky smooth and really does minimize your pores. The nice thing about this is that it’s not super drying so you can use it on your whole face, whereas a lot of pore minimizing products I can only put on my cheeks because they dry out my face (I’m looking at you, Becca Ever-Matte Primer).
Verb \\ Sea Spray
I had never heard of Verb, but this sea spray is wonderful. Everything from the scent, the texture, to the price is perfection. I tried this in my hair after it was already dry and had some loose curls, but it gave it just an extra oomph of beachy goodness. I especially can’t wait to bring this on a beach-vacay to mist in my hair after a day at the ocean.
Coola \\ Makeup Setting Spray
I’ve used Coola products before, but never this makeup setting spray. It has a mixture of green tea and aloe, plus it contains SPF 30. I put this on and it had a really cold sensation, plus it didn’t ruin my makeup (which is always my fear with new setting sprays). BUT, it burnt my eyes. I opened them right after spraying, and they immediately started stinging, so you’ll definitely want to make sure you keep them closed for a bit afterward. I could see using this on my face as an alternative to sunscreen, but I don’t think I’d use it as part of my everyday routine.
Klorane \\ Dry Shampoo
This dry shampoo from Klorane is another oldie, but goodie for me! I’ve used this and repurchased it a ton of times. The reason? Not only is it great at removing oils and refreshing hair, but it also comes in a shade called natural tint so it blends better with my dark hair. I had switched to the Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo recently, but receiving this sample has reminded me how much I love Klorane and I plan to switch back (in fact, I’ve already used up this sample!)
Kat Von D \\ Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lovesick
Kat Von D can do no wrong when it comes to her liquid lipsticks. These things might as well be tattoos, they last so long. I received the shade Lovesick and its been perfect! Of course, Lolita is a long time cult favorite, and I also like Muneca and Berlin.
Versace \\ Bright Crystal
This Versace perfume reminds me of the classic “perfumey” scent. I know that will be different for everyone, but for me this scent is classic and sophisticated. It’s not overpowering and wears nicely. It would be a great scent for a romantic evening.
