Off the Shoulder Obsession

Shirt \\ Skirt  \\ Clutch \\ Shoes (last seen here) \\ Necklace (on sale!)

Joe and I have been married for two months as of Friday, and though it’s probably lame to celebrate only two months of marriage, we were excited to go out and toast our first months as husband and wife. Funnily, we completely missed the point when we had been married for a month, only realizing two days later that we had completely blown by our first month of marriage. That’s why we were so determined to do a little something special when we hit the two month mark. Plus, we love any excuse to go to a nice romantic dinner, just the two of us!

The owners are Italian and you can really tell they have brought a lot of the Italian dining experience into their restaurant. They served Aqua Panna (the water we consistently had served to us in Italy) and had an extensive Italian wine list (though sadly not at the price point of the wines we had in Italy). The waitstaff came to collect our entire order at the beginning of the meal, which was by far my favorite trait of dining in Italy. We really felt like we had been transported back.

I have fallen hard and fast for the off the shoulder look. When I saw this shirt at express, I had to have it. The cut out detail was so unique, and I thought it would be a great transition piece for summer into fall.

I find myself really drawn to the look, whether it’s a shirt, dress, or jumpsuit (as you can see herehere, and here). There’s just something so elegant, yet sexy, about an off the shoulder top. Some of my current favorites include: this floral jumpsuit, this lace smocked tee, this plaid long-sleeve that is perfect for fall, and this stunning shirt dress.

We ended the evening, toasting many, many more months together.
