Over the years, I’ve been on a journey to figure out the best skincare routine for my skin. I’m 28 years-old, and my skin is in this interesting (aka irritating) place where I need to fight both signs of aging and pesky breakouts. Finding the right balance is key, and I’ve tried out a lot of products to try and find a combination that works for me. I’m always on the hunt to try something new, so if you have a skincare item you love, don’t hesitate to recommend it below.
I alternate my routine to make sure I’m covering all of my skincare needs. Just as a note, I only included weekdays here, because let’s be honest, the weekends are a free for all based on what I’m up to. So, here is my routine.
Monday – Wednesday – Friday: First I wash my face with Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser to rinse off the dirt and makeup from the day. Once my skin is dry, I pour some Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting Solution on a cotton ball and dab it all over my face to help even skin tone and fight breakouts. I lock everything in with the Kiehl’s Rosa Arctica Lightweight Moisturizer to keep my skin hydrated. I finish by patting the Kiehl’s Midnight Recover Concentrate all over my face to boost my skin’s elasticity and radiance.
Tuesday – Thursday: I start off the same way, cleaning off the grime of the day with my Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser. I then rub one dollop of the Dr. Brandt 2% Retinol Serum into my face to combat any signs of aging (you can never start too soon). Finally, I finish with the Kiehl’s Rosa Arctica Lightweight Moisturizer. The moisturizer is especially important on these nights because the retinol can dry out your face while working its magic!
Wednesday bonus: As a little middle of the week pick-me-up, I use my Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion Scrub after I wash my face, but before I apply the Paula’s Choice Solution. This helps slough off all the little dead guys and gives your skin a midweek boost.
