December is my favorite winter month (although that’s probably true for most people). It contains both Christmas and my birthday, so there’s a lot to celebrate this time of year! On Sunday we finished up our holiday decor and wrapping up some presents for the family. I just love how the house looks when it’s decorated for the holidays.
When thinking about holiday style, I’m drawn to silver, white, and golds especially. This year, our tree is decorated primarily with gold and I just love the way it sparkles. This is the first year we’ve had a full size tree, and I learned the hard way just how many lights you need for it to really be all merry & bright. Three separate trips to the store later, and I think we finally got it right. Our baby tree is upstairs in our bedroom, which I love looking at while I’m snuggled up, reading a book before bed.
I drew inspiration from our Christmas tree into my holiday dress this year. This skirt is actually an old bridesmaid dress I turned into a skirt. I also love the simple sophistication of adding a blazer to an outfit. A long strand of pearls is classy, yet playful. Finally, these earrings are my latest purchase and they are so stunning.
Have you found your holiday look yet? This year, velvet and metallic are on trend, and I love both this velvet blazer and this sequin one as holiday pieces! This velvet dress is absolutely one of my favorites I’ve seen this season and is perfect for a dressy occasion. I also love a metallic skirt and this rose gold one would work for both Christmas and New Years. I’ve shared a few more pieces to give you inspiration as you’re putting together your look.
