I joined the Junior League of Louisville this past fall. Although I’ve lived in Louisville for four years, I hadn’t done a great job getting involved in the community. I was feeling disconnected from the place that we were calling home. So I took a chance and went to a Junior League meeting and was hooked. I’ve really enjoyed my short time in the organization, meeting women, making connections and giving back through service projects.
On February 23rd and 24th, the Junior League is hosting our annual Tulips & Juleps Art and Gift Market. You can come enjoy a cocktail and some food while you shop through the many fantastic vendors of art, home decor, clothing, accessories and more! Tickets to the market are only a minimum $5 donation at the door.
I was able to check out two of this year’s vendors ahead of time, Nothing Bundt Cakes & Sandi’s Styles. If you haven’t been to Nothing Bundt Cakes, you definitely need to check out their booth at the market! The cakes are so moist, and the icing is cream cheesy, heavenly goodness. I sampled the lemon, and ordered the cinnamon and chocolate chocolate chip to take home! I’m pretty sure these were sharable sizes, but I couldn’t resist eating the entire cake. Whoops.
After enjoying my bundt cake, I headed over to Sandi’s Styles, another vendor at this year’s market. I had fun perusing the racks and found a bright array of modern women’s fashion in the trendiest styles! Lush fabrics, bold patterns and flattering silhouettes mean there is something for everyone at Sandi’s! There were so many dresses and accessories to choose from, I had the best time trying things on. You’ll definitely want to check out her booth at Tulips and Juleps.
Stopping by these vendors got me so excited for the full market! The last weekend of February can’t get here soon enough. And I’ll tell you what I’m most excited for at this year’s Tulips and Juleps : Juleps After Dark (sponsored in part by Nothing Bundt Cakes)! On Friday night, there will be music, drinks, door prizes, and shopping! For $25 you get admission, two drinks tickets, a swag bag, and automatic entry for a door prize. Plus, you can partake in the Bourbon & Wine pull to increase your bar collection. It’s going to be a party and I can’t wait!
This is our largest fundraising activity that supports our year-long initiatives, such as Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and the Little Libraries in Louisville. It also ensures we can continue to partner with community organizations like Uspiritus, Gilda’s Club, Maryhurst, and the Boys and Girls Haven.
