Love it or hate it, Valentine’s Day is this week. Whether you’re a fan of the holiday or not, it’s always nice to have a little reminder to show ourselves and those around us some love.
In honor of this polarizing holiday, I wanted to share a few last-minute ideas of how you can celebrate! Whether it’s for yourself, your friends, your family or your significant other, it’s important to spread the love.
Treat Yourself – Valentine’s For Yourself
It’s never a bad idea to “treat yo self” (where are my Parks and Rec fans?!). Get yourself some chocolate covered strawberries and cozy up in your comfiest pjs with a bottle of rosé and your favorite movie. Or, if you’re wanting to get out of the house, make an appointment to get a massage or take a trip to the mall and pick up something you’ve been eyeing for yourself, like that new perfume or pair of shoes you’ve been dying to buy. Whatever it is you do, never forget to show yourself some love – you deserve it!
Galentines – Valentine’s for Your Friends
Invite your friends over for a movie night and some wine. Order a heart shape pizza for your favorite people and chow down while watching your favorite romcom. Another idea is to host an at home spa day with your besties (you can do my at-home facial routine). Put little gift bags together with some lotion, candles and cosmetics to tell your friends “I love you.”
A Family Affair – Valentine’s for Your Family
Make old school Valentine’s for your family members. Write little notes explaining all the reasons you love them! Leave them in your family members’ bedrooms with a box of chocolates or drop them in the mail! It’s always a fun surprise to get an unexpected card!
Romance is in the Air – Valentine’s for Your Beau
Of course you can always go out to dinner but it’s hard to get a last minute reservation. Plus, with the pre-fixed menus, crowds, and prices, choose to cook a delicious dinner at home instead. Get some inspiration from Buzzfeed’s Tasty Videos (this recipe is one of my favorites). Cook together, light some candles, pour your favorite wine and spend time connecting without the noise of a busy restaurant around you.
Here are some more last minute gift ideas for you or your loved ones! Happy Valentine’s Day.
